(Source: Daily Record; Glasgow (UK))trackingA CONSORTIUM led by BP yesterday won the rights to one of Iraq's biggest oilfields in a televised auction.

The UK oil giants teamed up with China's CNPC to beat a consortium led by Exxon Mobil of the US for the Rumaila oil field contract.

They will be paid $2 a barrel by the Iraqi government to develop the field, which has 17.8billion barrels in crude.
