Wizzard Media (NYSE Amex:WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network
today announced that it served over 13,700,000 podcast ad impressions
through its Alchemy advertising technology in the quarter ending June
30, 2009. The 13.7 million ads served in the second quarter is an
increase of 251% from the 3.9 million impressions served in the second
quarter of 2008, and a 46% increase from the 9.4 million ad impressions
served in the first quarter of 2009. All ad impressions were certified
by Nielsen//NetRatings.
2008 – Q2 – 3.9M
2008 – Q3 - 5.5M
2008 – Q4 – 8.8M
2009 –
Q1 – 9.4M
2009 – Q2 – 13.7M
“The jump in impressions served from 9.7 million to 13.4 million in one
quarter is remarkable for one reason: Even in this tough economic and
advertising climate, amid all the doom and gloom of budget cuts, we have
been able to make a solid case to advertisers that our network is worth
their attention,” said Laurie Sims, Wizzard Media President. “As we
continue this advertising growth going forward, and CPM rates rebound to
more traditional levels, we believe the participating podcast publishers
on our network can earn sustainable incomes.”
“This growth comes as no surprise to Wizzard as our recent advertising
partnerships with Triton Media and Ando Media continue to grow along
with the popularity of Apple’s iPhone and iPod devices,” says Chris
Spencer, Wizzard Media CEO. “That fact, coupled with the ease of
downloading podcasts directly to your phone or mp3 player through
iTunes, is making our market one that has tremendous growth potential.”
