AT&T has won a three-year $13.5m contract from Republic Services to provide network services for supporting the integration and consolidation of the merger of Republic Services and Allied Waste announced last December.
The company will provide virtual private network service for the US-based environmental service provider's 759-site domestic wide area network consisting of corporate headquarters, data centers, call centers, regional offices, transfer stations and landfills. It will support all domestic infrastructure and communication needs including voice, data, and video.
The company will also provide round-the-clock access to real-time information about the performance of its networking services and a direct connection to electronic billing and ordering systems through the AT&T BusinessDirect portal.
Bill Halnon, chief information officer at Republic Services, said: "With AT&T we know we have the best technology in place to continue building on the momentum of our newly merged company. We are confident in AT&T's ability to deliver a consistent, reliable and secure network experience across our enterprise."
Earlier this month, AT&T won a five-year $14m contract from Germany-based specialist glass manufacturer Schott to provide managed network services for more than 17,000 employees at more than 90 locations in 40 countries.
