Jul. 4--You won't have to drive far to catch a fireworks show this Fourth of July weekend. They're happening all over the Metroplex. Here's our guide to some of the major ones. And remember to check with the facility or its Web site to find out what's allowed inside, such as food, drinks or chairs, and what isn't.

Tarrant County

Old Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic

What: This Concerts in the Garden show features the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra playing patriotic songs and marches.

When: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Where: Fort Worth Botanic Garden, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., Fort Worth

How much: $15-$42

1812 Overture

What: The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performs with Cliburn finalist Di Wu and concludes the night with the 1812 Overture accompanied by fireworks

When: 8 p.m. Sunday

Where: Fort Worth Botanic Garden, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., Fort Worth

How much: $15-$42

Fort Worth's Fourth

What: An evening of live music, games, activities, water shows and fireworks, as well as a baseball game featuring the Cats going up against Pensacola.

When: Festivities outside LaGrave Field begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday; the game starts at 7:05 p.m. There will also be post-game fireworks after the games on Friday and Sunday.

Where: LaGrave Field, 301 N.E. Sixth St., Fort Worth

How much: $4-$6 tickets to the Saturday game available; free for activities outside LaGrave Field

Quad Cities Family 4th Fireworks Show

What: A group of Northeast Tarrant cities get together for a fireworks show

When: 9:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Fireworks can be seen from the parking lots of Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum, 6108 Broadway Ave., Haltom City, and the ATI Career Training Center, 6351 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills

How much: Free

Totally Groovin' 4thFest Independence Day Celebration

What: A daylong event featuring music, family entertainment, and fireworks

When: Noon-10 p.m. Saturday

Where: Bedford Boys Ranch Park, 2801 Forest Ridge Road, Bedford

How much: Free, but admission will be charged to enter the Splash Aquatic Center ($5.50 adults/$4.50 children, free for those 2 and under) and the InFlataFun area, which requires purchasing of individual tickets or $15 wristband for all rides.
