Sidiq Basher Gefoon affirmed that Kenana Ethanol Plant produces energy free of carbon dioxide because ethanol is an environment friendly substance and can ward off problems emanate from pollution. He stated that the Plant was installed with design capacity of 66m liters to cover needs of Sudan and some Arab and African countries.He added that the plant now produces 24 thousand liters per day and that raw material transported by trucks to Port Sudan for export. Gefoon explained that the production of ethanol does not constitute danger to the employees but it requires taking some safety and security measures so as to avoid any explosion , therefore, using radiated substances and mobile phone is not allowed. It is to be noted that Kenana Ethanol Plant is considered one of the biggest factories in the Middle East and Africa.
