TOKYO, Jul. 6, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday, inheriting downward trend from the last three trading days of last week.
In the first 15 minutes of trading, the benchmark Nikkei-225 index lost 61.37 points, or 0.63 percent, from Friday to 9,754.70.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.50 points, or 0.49 percent, to 916. 12. The Second Section advanced.
