BEIJING, Jul. 6, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Chinese shares edged up 0.1 percent at the opening Monday on the news of an imminent IPO in Shanghai Stock Exchange by the Hong Kong-listed Sichuan Expressway Company Limited.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index advanced 3.11 points to open at 3,091.48. The Shenzhen Component Index also climbed 0.35 percent to 12,301.92 at the opening.
Chinese regulator has approved the A share issue and commencement of price consultation by Sichuan Expressway Company Limited, according to the company's website.
