Converted Organics Inc. (NASDAQ:COIN)
announced today that new systems and equipment recently installed at its
flagship Woodbridge, New Jersey facility are fully operational and
increasing the productivity and efficiency of the Company’s organic
fertilizer manufacturing processes, while contributing to a reduction in
overall operating expenses.
Within the past month, Converted Organics commissioned a new steam
boiler to reduce odor and enable the raw material digesters to run at
higher temperatures than before. The Company also installed a new
instrumentation and control package that automates its granular organic
fertilizer production line, resulting in improved production efficiency
and product quality, as well as reduced manpower requirements.
Additionally, Converted Organics installed a new centrifuge to increase
processing capacity rate and reduce the need for de-watering additives
during the manufacturing process, thereby lowering the cost of
manufacturing operations substantially.
“The incorporation of this new equipment has significantly increased the
production capacity and quality, as well as the overall efficiency, of
both Converted Organics’ liquid and granular organic fertilizer
manufacturing lines. These upgrades have also enabled us to appreciably
lower the cost of manufacturing operations,” said Robert C. Bayliss,
Vice President of Manufacturing for Converted Organics. “These
improvements follow previously completed steps that successfully reduced
odor emission from the Woodbridge facility. We are extremely pleased
with all of these new developments at our plant.”
