NEW ALBANY, Ohio, July 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) today reported net sales of $230.4 million for the five-week period ended July 4, 2009, a 26% decrease from net sales of $309.7 million for the five-week period ended July 5, 2008. June comparable store sales decreased 32%. Total Company direct-to-consumer net sales decreased 17% to $16.9 million for the five-week period ended July 4, 2009, compared to the five-week period ended July 5, 2008.
Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales decrease of 24% to $1.025 billion from $1.343 billion last year. Comparable store sales decreased 30% for the year-to-date period. Year-to-date, total Company direct-to-consumer net sales decreased 19% to $81.5 million.
