Jul. 12--Stillwater City Council will meet on Monday at the Stillwater Municipal Building to discuss or hear public comment with regards to agenda items that include:
4:45 p.m. -- Hear appeal to tort claim decision for claim filed by Meagan Music
5 p.m. -- Dinner for mayor and City Council members
5:30 p.m. -- Mayoral Proclamation declaring July 17 Global Day of Happiness as inspired by Nickelodeon character Sponge Bob Square Pants.
- Mayoral Proclamation declaring July 11-18 Home Energy Aid Week.
- Emergency management memorandum of understanding to formalize the working mutual aid relationship between the city of Stillwater and Oklahoma State University. The goal to minimize loss of life and property from natural or man-made emergencies or disasters and recognize the need to maintain string coordination and support the principles of preparedness, response and recovery.
- Revised memorandum of understanding with the Federal Aviation Authority as part of the Runway 17-35 Rehabilitation project. Originally approved on May 22, it was revised on July 3 at a projected increase of $2,530. Costs to be covered by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
- The replacement of approximately 3,000 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer line and 15 manholes in the area of Virginia, Elm, Marshall and Doty streets. Out of 11 requests for proposals, C. H.. Guernsey and Company was awarded to provide design services for project. The negotiated fee is not to exceed $85,115. Expenditures of up to $94,000 will be authorized for design.
- Application review for 315 and 317 South Blair St., situated on 1.19 acres, to be rezoned to two single-family and six two-family two-story residences, in a Small Lot Single-Family Planned Unit Development Area from two single-family residences in a Small Lot Single-Family area. Initially submitted on Feb. 17, it has been tabled since April 6.
- Discuss 2009-2010 city legislative goals for the 2010 legislative session in preparation for a July 22 meeting at the offices of the Oklahoma Municipal League. According to provided correspondence, the goal is to identify Stillwater's position regarding pending or potential legislative action. In 2006, the city was highlighted as a city of significant growth in population, housing construction and commercial development as well as at Oklahoma State University.
