Jul. 15, 2009 (Filing Services Canada) -- Platinum Communications Corporation (PCS - TSX Venture), ("Platinum") has appointed Bernard D. Parkinson as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Parkinson is a seasoned leader who combines strategic vision with proven expertise in providing the corporate finance, business development and business management disciplines to manage organizations embarking upon significant growth and change.
Since 2005 and prior to joining Platinum, Mr. Parkinson was the Founder and Director of NexAira Inc., a San Diego based provider of wireless broadband data solutions. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Parkinson was Director, Business Development of Bell West Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of BCE Inc.) While at Bell West, Mr. Parkinson was responsible for the overall business planning function and provided guidance to the sales team to develop and present large complex bids for major corporate accounts. Mr. Parkinson also held a senior management role in the construction and commissioning of the Alberta SuperNet project.
Mr. Robert D. Matheson, who has been fulfilling CEO duties for both Platinum and Glenbriar Technologies Inc. (CNSX:GTI), will now resume full time duties at Glenbriar. Mr. Matheson continues to be a director of Platinum, and will be assisting with the transition to the new CEO. The boards of directors wish to thank Mr. Matheson for guiding Platinum through its corporate restructure and successful CEO search.
