Grand Geneva Completes Multimillion Dollar Renovation
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 9:12 AM

Enhancements include remodeled guest rooms, WELL Spa + Salon, outdoor pool deck, new Embers Terrace and more

Officials at Grand Geneva have announced the completion of a multimillion dollar renovation – the largest such project to date for the AAA Four Diamond hotel since being purchased and refurbished by Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 1993.

The six-month transformation included enhancements to the hotel’s 355 guest rooms, redesign of WELL Spa + Salon, a brand new outdoor pool deck and the addition of Embers Terrace – an outdoor fireplace experience that overlooks Grand Geneva’s beautiful 1,300 acre landscape.

“This project was one of the most ambitious undertakings in Grand Geneva’s history,” said Managing Director Patrick Hansen. “The upgrades have completely transformed our property and guests who have not stayed with us recently will be blown away by what we have done. From the new outdoor pool deck and addition of Embers Terrace to the rejuvenated Well Spa + Salon and redesigned guest rooms - this is a brand new look and feel for Grand Geneva.”

The enhanced guest rooms received new carpeting, drapery, bedding, bathroom fixtures and refrigerators as well as new 37 and 42 inch flat screen televisions. One of the most unique additions is the Seura television mirrors featured in all guest bathrooms. The TVs are embedded within the mirrors and activated by the flick of a switch. Grand Geneva is one of the only properties in the Midwest to offer this state-of-the-art technology and worked closely with Green Bay, WI-based Seura to ensure a true “wow factor” when guests first view this amenity.

WELL Spa + Salon traded in its traditional look for a contemporary motif incorporating earthy, Scandinavian themes woven through the design of the furniture and soft, natural lighting. The spa’s upgraded locker rooms boast rich mahogany wood, redesigned whirlpools, wet and dry saunas, flat screen televisions and amenity bars. New lounges provide spa guests with a fresh sense of arrival - making it easier to relax and unwind before treatments. The lounges are an ideal place for group events such as wedding parties and luncheons.

Grand Geneva’s outdoor pool deck received dramatic enhancements to the main pool, jacuzzi and kiddie pool. The main pool features eight arching fountains that change colors for beautiful, nighttime displays. It has also been equipped with underwater music speakers and underwater benches. A new menu of food and drink items, including homemade smoothies, can be enjoyed poolside or at the new outdoor bar - outfitted with a premium LG flat screen TV perfect for watching sports on a hot day.

Adjacent to the remodeled outdoor pool deck is the new Embers Terrace - the ultimate spot for relaxation complete with 14-foot outdoor fireplace, upscale living room setting and magnificent views overlooking Grand Geneva’s rolling hills, picturesque lake and 18th hole of the Brute – one of the hotel’s two magnificent golf courses. Guests can enjoy signature desserts and cocktails from the Geneva ChopHouse at Embers Terrace as they pass the time away under the Wisconsin countryside’s starlit skies.
