SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) is America's satellite radio company delivering to subscribers commercial-free music channels, premier sports, news, talk, entertainment, and traffic and weather. The system consists of four in-orbit XM satellites, three in-orbit Sirius satellites, over 700 terrestrial repeaters that receive and retransmit signals, satellite uplink facilities and studios. On February 19, 2007, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio announced a merger that would combine the two radio services and create a single satellite radio network in the United States.

In the report, the analyst notes:

"SIRI said it ended the first quarter with 18.6 million subscribers, up 3% from the same quarter a year ago but down 2% sequentially. The company saw 1.34 million gross subscriber additions, but deactivations totaled 1.74 million. That's good for a net subscriber loss of 404,422. On the positive side, cost per subscriber acquisition shrank to $61 from $82 in the year-ago quarter.

"SIRI has developed a software application for use on the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch devices that allows its subscribers and users of those devices to access 120 channels of talk, sports, entertainment and commercial-free music. The SIRI app debuted on the App Store on June 18 and quickly became the top free app in the Music category on the App Store."
