Solution Enables Customers to Reap Benefits of Real-Time Replication
and Automatic Failover without Dedicated IT Support
Double-Take®
Software (NASDAQ: DBTK) and HEROware™
today announced that they are teaming up to offer HERO™ Backup
Continuity Appliance (BCA), a real-time disaster recovery appliance for
the Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) industry that is simple and
affordable, and has all of the features that SBS customers require:
constant protection, error-proof setup and fast, reliable recovery.
HERO BCA is the first and only solution to deploy Double-Take Software’s
award-winning real-time replication technology in an appliance specially
designed for the SBS market. It allows SBS customers to avoid regular
backups to tape or disk, a time-consuming and complex task that
increases the risk of data loss. By using Double-Take Software
technology, HERO BCA allows customers to automatically backup their
entire SBS system, including the operating system, applications, files
and data. HERO BCA is currently available in the United States and
Canada and will soon be available globally.
“SBS customers now have access to a simple, reliable and affordable way
to recover and protect their data,” said Alan Shafer, CEO of HEROware.
“This is the first time Double-Take Software’s technology has been
available to the SBS industry in such a practical and convenient
package. The solution will provide the recoverability, availability and
protection that is essential to running a successful, growing business.”
HERO BCA allows SBS customers to take advantage of both real-time
replication and automatic failover whether or not they have a dedicated
IT staff and extensive IT resources. The HERO BCA also provides both
local and remote protection; the solution can be run and located
in-house and can replicate simultaneously over the cloud to a HEROguard™
data center.
“Our partnership with HEROware is based on the idea that even SBS
customers, who frequently have constrained financial and personnel
resources, should have access to disaster recovery solutions,” said Dan
Jones, vice president of North American sales and marketing at
Double-Take Software.
