Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) announced today that the public offering of 7,700,000 shares of its common stock has priced at $26.00 per share. The offering includes a 30-day option for the underwriters to purchase up to an additional 1,155,000 shares to cover over-allotments, if any.
Bemis will use the net proceeds from the offering to partially finance the $1.2 billion purchase price of its proposed acquisition of the Food Americas operations of Alcan Packaging, a business unit of international mining group Rio Tinto plc.
