Wizzard Media (NYSE Amex: WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network,
announces the acquisition of exclusive distribution rights to three new,
high profile Apps currently for sale through Apple’s App Store for use
on iPhones and the iPod Touch. The three new Apps are: Word Party,
Dietician and Yo Mama.
Adding to its fast growing roster of premium iPhone Apps, Wizzard Media
acquired these three highly regarded Apps specifically based on their
sales potential and targetability through Wizzard’s podcast marketing
and distribution network. Wizzard has focused its recent App acquisition
efforts on quality, timeless Apps that match up well with highly
targeted podcast audiences generating app developers and podcasters
revenues for the sale and promotion of the products.
“The Wizzard Media podcast network reaches an audience of over 18
million unique consumers a month, approximately 50 million a year, and
we expect that to continue to grow as Apple announced just yesterday
that they sold another 5.2 million iPhones last quarter,” says Chris
Spencer, CEO of Wizzard Media. “The podcasters we work with have proven
that they do an excellent job promoting their sponsors and advertisers
and we believe that with the influence and rapport they have developed
with their audience, they will do a great job marketing these Apps. I
envision customized Word Party apps for our various participating
language and grammar podcasts and targeting the Dietician app to yoga,
action sports and other fitness enthusiasts we can reach through the
many Health & Fitness podcasts on the Wizzard network. We can align
specific Apps with specific podcast shows, matching audience
demographics through our proprietary Alchemy ad serving system.”
This announcement represents ongoing progress on the first step of
Wizzard’s expanded monetization plan for its podcasting network of
20,000 producers and their 18 million viewers and listeners,
approximately 70% of whom use iTunes to subscribe to and download their
favorite podcasts. Wizzard believes this step will put it closer to its
goal of profitability and will be announcing the next step in its
network monetization plan shortly.
