CALGARY - A number of gas stations in Alberta are either running low on gasoline or have run out completely.
Most of the affected stations are Petro-Canada but some Esso stations and private operators have also been shorted on their fuel delivery.
Signs have been posted on the doors of one service station saying the problem is temporary and the company is working to find a resolution.
A Petro-Canada refinery was damaged in severe storms in northern Alberta last week.
The refinery was shut down quickly because of the weather and it damaged the catalytic cracking unit.
Officials say they have got the refinery operating again but fuel is being trucked in from Montreal to help cover the shortfall in the meantime.
Last summer, there were also shortages because of a similar refinery problem.
Alberta and British Columbia were hardest hit by the breakdown and close to 100 stations shut down their pumps.
