RESTAT, the nation's largest privately-held Prescription Benefits Management company has selected Mark Helvick, CPA, to fill its newly created Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position.
RESTAT President David R. Kwasny, R. Ph. said the company's core PBM and evolving healthcare payer services have experienced rapid growth, requiring a more strategic approach to financial management. "Mark Helvick is uniquely qualified to support RESTAT's aggressive growth plan," explains Kwasny. "He has built a significant career in healthcare with experience in the acquisition, integration and, start-up of multiple benefit management offerings."
Helvick most recently served two UnitedHealth Group subsidiaries in executive capacities, including OptumHealth Specialty Benefits, as CFO, and National Benefit Resources, Inc., as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). In addition, Helvick worked for Assurant Inc., for more than 11 years, rising to the position of Vice President and Controller for the Milwaukee-based, health and specialty insurance company.
"I believe our society has been damaged by Wall Street's pursuit of purely financial-based goals," said Helvick. "I am thrilled to use my strong analytical background for a company that is looking to challenge the norms, increase efficiencies and reduce costs," he added. "As we further align to meet our clients' needs to reduce the complexity and cost of healthcare, we are actually helping to improve a fragmented health system."
Kwasny added, "The extensive knowledge and expertise that Mark brings to his position as CFO will assist us as we partner with our clients to provide access to high-value pharmacy benefits and other life science utilization in a cost-contained, cost-plus, transparent model."
