, Jul. 28, 2009 (Resource News International) -- The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)closed lower on Tuesday,
due to drops in oil and gold stocks, according to market watchers.
The TSX composite index decreased by 186.89 points or 1.74% to close at
10,570.54 on Tuesday. Trading volumes totaled 497.2 million shares, up from
414.2 million on Monday. Declines beat advances 926 to 569.
Nine of the TSX's ten sectoral indexes finished lower with only the health
care sector making any gains.
