Aetna (NYSE: AET) today announced the addition of WhiteGlove House Call
Health, Inc., to its provider network in San Antonio. The agreement,
effective immediately, will give Aetna’s members in Bexar and Comal
Counties access to routine medical care in their homes or at work.
WhiteGlove’s licensed nurse practitioners and physicians will be able to
diagnose and treat minor ailments such as flu, colds, infections, skin
rashes, nausea, vomiting, and suture minor cuts in the home or office
between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week. Additionally, members will
receive most of the generic medications prescribed during the visit and
a well-kit of foods, beverages and over-the-counter remedies—all for
only the cost of a member’s specialist co-pay, co-insurance or
deductible.
“We are pleased to add WhiteGlove to our provider network,” said Carl
King, president of Health Care Delivery for Aetna’s Southwest region.
“For routine care, the WhiteGlove service offers another quality option
for our members when they are unable to visit their primary care
physician. Aetna continues to look for innovative solutions that are
focused on improving our members’ health care experience.”
Through WhiteGlove’s secured website, members will be able to request a
visit by one of the medical professionals, fill out medical history and
insurance forms, and view their treatment records processed through
WhiteGlove.
“At WhiteGlove, we are passionate about changing healthcare on a
national level by bringing a health care solution to the market that
improves the access to affordable health care while delivering an
exceptional health care experience to the consumer,” said Bob Fabbio,
WhiteGlove’s founder, president and chief executive officer. “We are
very excited that Aetna shares our passion for finding ways to improving
the consumer experience to their members in San Antonio.”
In addition to San Antonio, WhiteGlove’s services will be available to
Aetna’s members in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Austin, and will
be expanding soon to Houston.
