Emeritus Senior Living (NYSE:ESC) announced today that it has launched a Home Visits program, called You Don’t Have to Live with Us for Us to Help, part of Emeritus Senior Living’s Safely Somewhere program. Emeritus’ Safely Somewhere program is the company’s commitment to facilitate access to appropriate resources for all seniors, whether they are in their own homes, in an Emeritus community or elsewhere. The national assisted living operator has formalized the Home Visits program to strengthen this commitment, working to ensure that seniors in need near its local communities find the combination of programs and services that serve them best.

The Home Visits program helps local seniors identify the most appropriate support service options for their individual needs, understanding that some seniors prefer to stay in their homes. Emeritus will work with each senior to assess their needs and desires and identify the appropriate resources within the local community.

A few of the services that will be offered to local seniors include:

• Nurse evaluation to help identify care needs
• Support system check to identify potential challenges based upon gaps in needed assistance
• Referrals to other area providers as needed based upon identified needs
• Post visit follow up coordination with families and community resources after home visit
• Access to Emeritus resources such as family lending library and senior safety tips
• A listening ear and enjoyable visit
