Atlantic Wind & Solar Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AWSL) is pleased to provide the following summary of recent developments and achievements by the Company. AWSL has made steady progress towards its goal of becoming a significant player in the Renewable Energy (RE) industry. The Company's recent announcement of an agreement with Centripetal Dynamics Inc. (CDI) whereby the two companies will collaborate on promising RE projects is seen as a major milestone for Atlantic Wind & Solar in pursuit of this goal. With an enviable R&D capability in Wind Power technology, CDI is at the forefront of delivering new efficiencies to the dynamic global Wind-to-Electricity business.
Since AWSL's June 2009 acquisition of Hybridyne Power Systems Canada, the Company has been actively pursuing a number of exciting RE projects that portend a successful 2009 with the achievement of several corporate milestones. With the Hybridyne acquisition, and other potential acquisitions and/or Joint Ventures, AWSL is positioned to achieve significant inroads into several key sectors of the annual $200 billion renewable energy boom that is accelerating across North America and around the globe.
A Congratulatory Note
Management wishes to extend its congratulations to AWSL's Canadian subsidiary, Hybridyne Power Systems Canada, for its recent nomination as a finalist in the "Newmarket Environmental Business of the Year" award; the final award winner is to be announced at a ceremony scheduled for October 21, 2009 in Newmarket, Ontario, a high-tech-focused suburb of Toronto.
AWSL and CDI Collaboration
As announced on July 22, 2009, AWSL and CDI will collaborate to develop hybrid wind/solar energy projects in Ontario, Canada. The companies anticipate the opportunity to collaborate on 10-12 renewable energy projects, totaling approximately 800 MW. Technology-focused Atlantic Wind & Solar Inc. has retained the services of Centripetal Dynamics Inc. to support the design and implementation of the wind power interests for these projects in Canada. The parties will also be evaluating the Canadian market to determine if the Ontario region of Canada could provide for a future manufacturing plant for turbine blades, nacelles or other alternative energy components or sub systems. If and when this proposal moves ahead, it would put AWSL at the forefront of implementing CDI turbine manufacturing in Canada.
Renewable Energy Potential Given Strong Boost in Ontario
In addition to The Province of Ontario's excellent new Feed-in-Tariff (North America's first guaranteed pricing structure favoring RE), the growth potential of Renewable Energy in Ontario was also greatly enhanced by the cancellation of two planned nuclear power plants in the Province on July 23, 2009.
