Omnicare, Inc., one of the nation's leading providers of pharmaceutical care for the elderly, today announced it has entered into a strategic relationship with healthcare information technology provider eHealth Solutions, Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under this new alliance, Omnicare has become the exclusive institutional pharmacy to market and distribute the SigmaCare® suite of software solutions. With this new alliance, Omnicare has enhanced the breadth of technology products it may offer to long-term-care facilities.
Headquartered in New York City, eHealth Solutions is a leading provider of computerized physician order entry systems, electronic medical records software and related care management systems to skilled nursing facilities in the United States. Marketed under the brand name SigmaCare, these wireless-accessed, Internet-based systems allow mobile, real-time, point-of-care use and secure access to data. This proprietary software was developed to be highly flexible, allowing client facilities to add functionality and migrate along a spectrum from an easily implemented electronic physician order entry system to comprehensive electronic medical records and care management systems with integrated care plan and minimum data set modules.
