Firm's Ohio Market Insights and Competitive Procurement Process Deliver
Millions in Savings to Area Businesses

DUBLIN, OH and WORCESTER, MA, July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - World Energy Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: XWES; TSX: XWE), an operator of online exchanges for energy and green commodities, today announced it has helped Ohio businesses capitalize on low wholesale electricity prices to procure energy at significant savings over the default utility rate. Since mid-May, World Energy has enabled numerous customers, including area manufacturers and health-care facilities, to secure contracts over the World Energy Exchange(R) ranging from 11-35 months and delivering over $4 million in total savings.

Understanding the opportunity created by the confluence of low wholesale electricity prices and a May 2009 electricity-rate auction that set the utility price for the FirstEnergy service territory through May 2011, World Energy has successfully brought competition to the Ohio electricity market. Over the last month, World Energy has helped its customers move off the utility and secure more attractive rates with aggressive new suppliers.

'World Energy brought this timely opportunity to our attention and helped us execute a contract that brought significant savings to our organization,' said Wayne Tennant, Vice President, Support Services for Humility of Mary Health Partners, which operates three acute care hospitals in the Youngstown, Ohio area. 'As a result, we have locked in a great rate with a new supplier for a term that provides us price certainty for three years and saves our hospitals over $750,000. These savings enable us to support our mission and service to the community.'

With a team based in Dublin, World Energy has proudly served the Ohio energy market since 1999, successfully transacting natural gas for over 90 customers and 160 facilities, many of them national or regional brand names.
