Leading healthcare provider will use Lawson system to help improve
staff development and streamline business processes
Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that HealthEast Care
System has selected Lawson
Strategic Human Capital Management, including applications from the
Lawson Talent Management and Human Resource Management suites. The
enterprise software system includes Lawson Compensation Management, Goal
Management and Talent Acquisition applications as well as the Lawson
Process Flow Integrator and Business
Intelligence suites. The system will help the healthcare provider
automate its business and personnel processes and improve efficiencies
that will help reduce operating costs. The contract was signed during
Lawson’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, which ended May 31, 2009.
HealthEast Care System is one of the largest healthcare providers in the
east metro area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minn. It operates a
network of integrated care through its four hospitals, 14 clinics and
outpatient services. HealthEast is dedicated to providing compassionate
care through traditional medicine, new technology and integrative
therapies.
HealthEast launched a plan to consolidate and automate its business and
personnel processes to help improve efficiency and provide greater
transparency and rapid access to information across its entire network.
In addition to helping HealthEast improve staff productivity and lower
HR administrative costs, the Lawson applications also will help the
health network create cross-functional processes by helping to simplify
reporting with improved data access.
"Our mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate, cost-effective
care. The Lawson system essentially offers a single system to support
our core business strategies and our HR-related activities to support
that mission,” said Ginny Sullivan, vice president of Human Resources
for HealthEast. "One of our key challenges is to better manage our most
vital resource – our people – in a highly competitive industry during a
challenging economic time. The Lawson applications and Lawson’s approach
to talent management are well-suited to help us better align our people
with our patient care and business objectives.”
"Healthcare providers need affordable business systems to help them
control escalating labor costs and improve productivity so they can
pursue their patient care mission," said Jim Catalino, general manager,
Healthcare, for Lawson.
