To better serve its student population and advance its mission to increase access to nursing education, Chamberlain College of Nursing announced today its plans to relocate its St. Louis campus and expand available resources effective March 2010.

Pending the necessary notifications to and approvals by the appropriate regulatory and accrediting bodies, Chamberlain will relocate its St. Louis campus to 11830 Westline Industrial Drive in Maryland Heights, near Westport Plaza, with classes at this new location beginning in March 2010. Founded as Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis in 1889, Chamberlain will continue to operate at its current location at 6150 Oakland Ave. through February 2010, when its current lease will expire.

“Our primary goal is to ensure that Chamberlain College of Nursing’s St. Louis campus provides a high-quality teaching and learning environment for our faculty and students,” said Susan Groenwald, president of Chamberlain College of Nursing. “Our new campus will occupy 55,000 square feet of space, including state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, which will enhance our ability to provide progressive, quality nursing education programs that feature both a broad educational foundation and extensive, diverse clinical practice.”

The new campus will feature increased computer, testing and nursing skills labs, including intensive care unit, specialty and simulation labs. The new location is also in closer proximity to a number of Chamberlain’s clinical partners.

“Chamberlain College of Nursing places a strong emphasis on co-curricular learning, providing students with opportunities to demonstrate and develop their clinical proficiency while earning course credit through community health initiatives — both locally and abroad,” said DeLois Weekes, dean of Chamberlain College of Nursing’s St. Louis campus. “With its 120-year history in St. Louis, Chamberlain has developed strong relationships with a number of community organizations, local clinics, hospitals and health care organizations, allowing our students to fulfill their educational requirements, while also giving back to the St. Louis region.

These people call me 3 and 4 times a day.  They refuse to take me off of the telemarketing list.  They usually hang up as soon as I answer the phone.  Don't go to their school.
