(Source: Business Wire)trackingEden Prairie-based Video Guidance, the leading video, voice, streaming and web conferencing services providers in the Upper Midwest, has launched VG Connect Desktop Service, which brings videoconferencing to the individual workspace.

"Videoconferencing is no longer just a boardroom technology," said Michael Werch, president and CEO of Video Guidance. "VG Connect Desktop Service provides real time, face-to-face communication and increases productivity without leaving your chair."

VG Connect offers two desktop services -- Desktop Advanced and Desktop Deluxe -- that introduce different applications that address the needs of the individual as well as the organization. "What is particularly noteworthy is that each service requires no upfront budgeted expenditures, no sophisticated hardware and no personnel to support the solution," Werch says.

Desktop Advanced VG Connect Desktop Advanced is designed for the worker in a home office or the well-traveled business "road warrior" who spends a lot of time in airports and hotel rooms. Desktop Advanced allows users to stay visually connected to colleagues, customers or suppliers. With only an existing PC and USB camera, users can connect easily and quickly from public spaces or remote offices. Desktop Advanced connects to other standards-based videoconference systems.

Desktop Deluxe VG Connect Desktop Deluxe Service is designed for businesses that want to expand personal videoconferencing usage to all levels of an organization at the desktop. While lowering the cost per user, the Desktop Deluxe is a highly scalable solution for mass deployment because everyone in the organization will immediately see the benefits of increased productivity and daily collaboration.

Video Guidance has enjoyed strong video conferencing sales resulting from a weak economy that forced businesses to reduce out-of-control travel expenses without jeopardizing critical communications. The company, which is on track to reach its annual goal of double digit growth of 21 percent, this month reported second quarter revenues of over $3.4 million, the company's largest quarter since its inception in 1999.

Founded in 1999, privately held Video Guidance, Inc. (www.videoguidance.com) provides conferencing, telepresence and audio visualtechnologies and services that facilitate natural, visual communication. Video Guidance's 2008 year-end results grew an impressive 21 percent over 2007. Strategic alliances include Conference Plus, Tandberg (OSLO: TAA.OL), Polycom (NASDAQ: PLCM), LifeSize, On Stream Media Corporation, Radvision (NASDAQ: RVSN), VBrick, and Accordent.

Video Guidance was also twice named to Inc's. 5,000 list of the nation's fastest growing private companies in 2007 and 2008. In 2007, the company has been among the Top 100 of the fastest growing regional companies in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and recognized by The Business Journal as one of the "50 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies" in the Twin Cities metro area. This year, Video Guidance received the "Grant Services Partner of the Year" honor from TANDBERG for helping organizations create teleconferencing solutions in telemedicine and distance learning in underserved rural areas.
