SAN FERNANDO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/06/09 -- Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a leader in automatic wristband identification, announces the launch of its patented Smart Band® RFID Wristband System at the new Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, North Carolina. Its parent company, Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.®, is North America's largest family of indoor waterpark resorts.

The system starts at registration as adult guests are provided a Smart Band® RFID wristband, which is embedded with a 13.56MHz RFID inlay. The automated wristbands provide secure, keyless entry into the family's hotel room, eliminating the need to carry hotel room keys or cards. Throughout the resort, RFID enabled point of sale (POS) workstations enable guests to easily make cashless payments with the RFID wristbands at food and beverage concessions, gift shops, and restaurants. Vending and token machines are also RFID enabled to allow cashless purchases with the wristbands.

Guests have the choice of using the RFID wristbands to make charges directly to their rooms or to set up a pre-funded account for purchases, using a credit card. The pre-funded account is a convenient way to allow children to purchase products and services without giving them full charging privileges. Guests can fund accounts at the registration desk during check-in, or anytime throughout their stay. All information on the wristband is fully encrypted, providing maximum security for guests.

The resort's focus on quick and smooth guest amenities sparked the decision to choose PDC's Smart Band RFID System. "Convenience is a big factor with guests when selecting a resort," said Phillip Cunningham, General Manager. "They want to make purchases quickly and easily. While in a waterpark, no one wants the burden of carrying money or credit cards. PDC's RFID System helps us deliver the cashless convenience to our guests and improve their overall experience."

Referring to one recent guest at the waterpark, Cunningham said the visitor "was so thrilled not to have to carry his wallet around and risk getting it wet or lost. He also liked how quickly and easily he could pre-load a certain amount of money to his children's wristbands for controlled spending without mom or dad having to be present."

The lodge has more than 400 guest suites and an 80,000 square foot indoor waterpark. The RFID installation is PDC's seventh nationwide for Great Wolf Resorts, Inc®.
