Mingle to Celebrate Launch of Vision Street Wear’s Latest Collection
On August 2nd Vision Street Wear® partnered with Spin
Magazine to throw an exclusive Malibu beach party celebrating the
re-launch of the iconic skateboard and streetwear brand. At the event
Vision Street Wear debuted an amazing new collection of shoes that fused
an authentic, old-school aesthetic with updated and modern lines, colors
and materials. The entire collection of men’s and women’s shoes is
available exclusively at The Finish Line, having officially launched in
stores August 1st.
The re-launch event brought together an eclectic mix of athletes,
celebrities and industry insiders to a private beach estate in Malibu to
celebrate the past and present of Vision Street Wear. Guests enjoyed the
80 degree Malibu weather, strawberry margaritas, and endless BBQ—all
under the watchful eye of a gathering crowd of paparazzi. In his
infamous style, Jake Brown, who was a Gold Medal winner at the X Games
just days before, rocked the turntables and spun tunes for the crowd
well into the night. Along with Jake Brown came another X Games Gold
Medal winner, Rune Glifberg, who appeared right after his win and walked
out with a vintage Vision Street Wear poster under his arm from the
display. Pro skaters Darrel Stanton, Jereme Rogers, Aquil Brathwait and
professional skateboarder and Sirius Radio talk show host Jason Ellis
were on hand to congratulate Jake and Rune on their wins. Beverly Hills
90210 star AnnaLynne McCord came with her two sisters and posed for
paparazzi on the beach. Not to be outdone, America’s Next Top Model
Winner and star of My Fair Brady, Adrienne Curry, showed off her bikini
body by jumping in the ocean in the middle of the festivities. Other
celebrities in attendance were Eric Balfour, guitarist for The
Offspring, Todd Morse, NHL Hall-of-Famer Chris Chelios, NHL star Sheldon
Souray, models Caroline D’Amore and Caroline Vreeland, and new Joe
Simpson singing protégé, An-Ya.
Guests enjoyed freshly prepared food straight from the Farmers Market’s
new restaurant, Farmer’s Kitchen, while also enjoying Vita Coco, Venom
Energy Drinks, Vitaminwater, Caramba Tequila and Carnivo XO from the bar.
With the combined buzz around the new collection at Finish Line and the
success of the launch event, Vision Street Wear--one of the most
well-loved brands of the ’90s skateboard and street culture scene--is
set to make a serious comeback, proving that "Legends Never Die." The
new VSW collection can be viewed at www.visionstreetwear.com
