Joins initiatives in more than 300 locations nationwide to
recognize and support the work of Community Health Centers to provide
health care to the underserved
Theme of the week is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: Where
ACCESS and QUALITY CARE Begin”
AmeriChoice of Pennsylvania is sponsoring and participating in a host of
events at community health centers in Southeast Pennsylvania in support
of National Health Center Week, Aug. 9-15, led by the National
Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
This includes visits to area health centers throughout the week and a
special breakfast ceremony on Friday, Aug. 14, at AmeriChoice’s office
in the Wanamaker Building in Center City Philadelphia.

and Insurance for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program,
we are committed to improving access to quality, affordable health care
for the most vulnerable populations in America,” said Jennifer Kessler,

major part of that process.”
Community Health Centers serve 18 million people at more than 7,000
sites nationwide, providing quality health care. This was documented
recently in a study by The George Washington University Medical Center,
focusing on CHCs supported by AmeriChoice corporate parent, UnitedHealth
Group. The study concluded that CHCs can and do provide high-quality
health care that equals or exceeds care provided in the private sector.
