Nu Horizons to Offer Conexant’s Comprehensive Suite of Imaging,
Audio, Video, and Embedded-modem Semiconductor Solutions
Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT), a leading supplier of innovative
semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, video, and Internet
connectivity applications, today announced that it has appointed Nu
Horizons Electronics Corp. (NASDAQ: NUHC) as its exclusive distributor
in North America and Mexico. Nu Horizons Electronics is a leading global
distributor of advanced technology semiconductors, display,
illumination, power, and system solutions. They will distribute
Conexant’s entire line of imaging, audio, video, and embedded-modem
devices.

Conexant and Nu Horizons also plan to develop a series of evaluation
kits (EVKs) based on Conexant’s imaging, audio, and video semiconductor
solutions, and complementary devices from franchised lines represented
by Nu Horizons. The EVKs will be targeted at a broad range of imaging,
and high-definition audio and voice applications. These include
“connected” digital photo frame and interactive display appliances with
integrated Internet connectivity and touch-screen technology, and audio
peripherals such as speakerphone-enabled docking stations, intercoms,
door phones, and communication sound systems. In addition, the two
companies will work together to develop educational product material
such as tutorials, application notes, presentations, and Webinars for
engineers and purchasing professionals.
