Janel World Trade Receives Sponsor Letter from Wuxi Water Resources
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 9:06 AM

Janel World Trade, Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: JLWT), a full-service global provider of integrated logistics and environmental services, today announced that its Environmental Projects Division has received a Sponsor Letter from The Wuxi Water Resources Bureau. Funding and grants for any environmental project in China requires a sponsor from a reputable Chinese firm or agency. This will be the second Sponsor Letter Janel and its Consortium has received from Wuxi officials regarding the well publicized cleanup of Lake Tai:

“A comprehensive approach is needed to address these water quality issues including; i). Identify the current water quality of Taihu Lake; ii). Improve the basin management using water modeling; iii). Strengthen the pollution control of point and non-point sources; and v). Study the advanced technologies for algae removal and dredging, dewatering and disposal. We believe the Janel World Trade Consortium owns rich experiences in these fields, and we fully support these efforts” wrote Mr. Miao Xuejun, Vice Director of The Wuxi Water Resources Bureau.

Paul McCreary, President of Janel’s Environmental Projects Division said “this second sponsor letter and additional level of support from Wuxi officials certainly validates our environmental concepts and initiatives in the Lake Tai region. We are very proud to have The Wuxi Water Resources Bureau as a supporter and as a sponsor.”

In May 2007, Lake Tai was overtaken by a major algae bloom and remains plagued by major pollution with high levels of bacteria, coliform and fecal coliform. The lake provides water to nearly 30 million residents, including about three million in Wuxi alone. As of October 2007, the Chinese government had shut down or given notice to over 1,300 factories around the lake, but the damage to the water basin had already been done. The urbanization level around the Lake Tai basin ranks first in China. With the development of industry, agriculture and an increased living standard in recent decades, the water pollution issue of Tai Lake is worsening.
