A survey of over 100 IT decision makers in Brazil revealed a spike in the country's IT spending over the next nine months. The survey, which focused on disaster recovery and virtualization, revealed that respondents plan to increase their IT and data center investments as the economy continues its recovery from economic collapse:
Currently, just 61 percent of respondents have a disaster recovery plan in place
However, 80 percent of respondents have server and/or data center migration projects planned for the next 9 months.
49 percent of respondents have a virtualization project planned within the next 1-3 months
35 percent of respondents still do not use virtualization in their current data centers
The survey was conducted by Double-Take® Software (NASDAQ: DBTK) at the company's "Move, Protect and Recover your data and application services with Double-take Software" Seminar in Sao Paulo in June. Double-Take Software will continue its South American seminar series with additional events on August 19 in Bogota, Colombia, and September 23 Buenos Aires, Argentina. The seminars will review the challenges South American organizations face today with existing backup, migration and recovery solutions. They will also provide a technical overview of how Double-Take Software's products can be used to replace a tape-only approach and improve overall backup and disaster recovery plans.
