BEIJING, Aug. 12, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Chindex International, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHDX) (CHINDEX. NASDAQ), an American provider of western healthcare services and products in China, has reported 3.3 million US dollars of net income for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2010, ended June 30, 2009.

This compares to a net loss of 161,000 US dollars in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2009.

Revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 increased 41 percent to 45.3 million US dollars from 32.1 million US dollars in the prior year period, thanks to continuous growth in the Medical Products division and Healthcare Services division.

Revenue from the Medical Products division soared 86 percent from 12.5 million US dollars in the first quarter of fiscal year 2009 to 23.3 million US dollars. Revenue from the Healthcare Services division rose 13 percent to 22.0 million US dollars from 19.6 million in the year-ago period.
