BEIJING, Aug. 13, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Hurray! Holding Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:HRAY) (Hurray!, HRAY.NASDAQ) revealed its unaudited financial result early Thursday, reporting net losses of 10.9 million U.S. dollars in the second quarter of this year, vs. net losses of 2.1 million dollars during the first quarter.
The China-based mobile music provider?s turnover during the reporting period totaled 9.8 million dollars, dropping 16.3 percent from January-March, or 22.9 percent year on year.
Included were 5.5 million dollars from the wireless value-added services, down 39.3 percent year on year, and 4.3 million dollars from music disc business, up 19.5 percent.
The gross profit rate of the company declined from 36.4 percent over the same period a year ago to 21.3 percent, and the gross profit registered 2.1 million dollars, tumbled 54.8 percent year on year.
Hurray! rolled out 15 new mobile games and handset theme models on the web portal of China?s leading telecom operator China Mobile (0941.HK; CHL.NYSE) during the second quarter, and planned to unveil nine more in the third quarter.
