The King of Radio will be honored by two Mega concerts, featuring some of today's most popular artists
MIAMI, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Spanish Broadcasting System (Nasdaq: SBSA)
('SBS') announced today that Polito Vega, better known as the 'King of Radio,'
will be honored for his 50 years on the radio with a two-day concert series
organized by WPAT- 93.1 FM Amor and WSKQ- 97.9 FM Mega.
The concerts will be held on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at
Madison Square Garden in New York City. Each concert will start at 8 PM.
On Friday, August 28 at 8 PM, Amor 93.1 will present Polito's first Mega
concert celebration, highlighted by an appearance of the internationally
renowned singer Juanes. The concert will include performances by some of
today's biggest pop artists, such as: Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio,
Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Luis Fonsi, Cristian Castro, Don Omar, Gloria
Trevi, David Bisbal, Arthur Hanlon, Alexander Acha and Fanny Lu.
On Saturday, August 29 at 8 PM, Mega 97.9 will present the second Mega
concert in Polito's honor. This concert will be full of 'energetic salsa
music,' 'merengue' and 'sazon.' Today's biggest salsa and merengue artists
will perform as part of the celebration: Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle,
El Torito, Millie Quesada, Olga Tanon, Oscar de Leon, Elvis Crespo, Grupo
Mania, Tono Rosario, Los Hermanos Rosario, Jose Alberto 'El Canario', India,
Tito El Bambino, Henry (Aventura), Alexis and Fido, Aymee, Domingo Quinones,
Luis Enrique and Flex.
The masters of ceremony for both concerts will be Mega TV talents Fernando
del Rincon and Alexis Valdes, who will without a doubt keep the audience
entertained throughout the event. Radio hosts Gloria B. and 'Tony and Los
Lunaticos' from Amor 93.1 and Alex Sensation, El Jukeo, DJ Lobo and J.I. Star
from Mega 97.9 will also be participating in the two-day concert celebration.
Polito Vega has been involved in the radio industry for 50 years. He has
been recognized by his peers as a distinguished host, announcer, master of
ceremonies, and as an entertainer for innumerable concerts and community
