NewsProNet to Distribute MainStreet.com Video Segments Covering "Consumer Pocketbook" Issues to Hundreds of TV Station, News and Consumer Info Websites
MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 08/19/09 -- NewsProNet, a leading provider of premium video
news content for television stations nationwide, today announced an
agreement with leading digital financial media company TheStreet.com, Inc.
(NASDAQ: TSCM) for production and syndication of online video reports on
consumer pocketbook issues to news sites and information portals
nationwide.
Under the agreement, NewsProNet will market and distribute the
three-story-per-week "MainStreet Money Minute" video report to local TV
station websites -- for use online and on-air on a market-exclusive basis
-- as well as other online news sites and pure-play web portals focused on
consumer finance news. MainStreet Money Minute will be co-produced by
NewsProNet and TheStreet.com's personal consumer finance news site,
MainStreet.com.
The online syndication of MainStreet Money Minute marks the latest
initiative from NewsProNet for the production and distribution of
high-quality online video news content co-produced with some of the
most-recognized names in business and consumer news. In July, NewsProNet
announced the production and syndication of HealthDay TV daily online video
reports, produced in conjunction with the HealthDay online news service.
"NewsProNet is pleased to join with TheStreet.com in delivering the
MainStreet Money Minute to hundreds of news and information sites across
the Internet in the coming weeks," said Kent J. Krizik, President,
NewsProNet. "Online media publishers and local and national advertisers
know there's no better way to reach consumers than through the compelling
format of online video and syndication of these MainStreet Money Minute
consumer pocketbook reports will help them do just that."
The MainStreet Money Minute video feeds, which will begin in September
2009, leverage NewsProNet's extensive experience in producing and
distributing professional-quality consumer and business video news to local
TV stations and major broadcast and cable television networks.
The MainStreet Money Minute daily video news reports provide online media
publishers and advertisers with direct entrée to a growing consumer segment
of Internet users who increasingly turn to online video for news and
information. Digital research firm comScore recently estimated that 77
percent of all U.S. Internet users watch video online, a phenomenon market
research firms say is driving online video adspend as the fastest-growing
segment of the advertising industry today.
MainStreet Money Minute national advertising and sponsorship options
include various pre-roll, video overlay and display advertising
opportunities.
