Vehicles to Be Used in the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships
MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 08/19/09 -- Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in
transportation and supply chain management solutions, today announced that
it is providing 12 vehicles to be used in the 2009 National Truck Driving
Championships, hosted by the non-profit American Trucking Associations
(ATA). The National Truck Driving Championships, an annual competition of
professional truck drivers, is the industry's premier trucking safety
event. Participating drivers will be using Ryder's vehicles as they
demonstrate their driving and inspection skills, while competing for
national awards within eight classes of truck competition and for the title
of Grand Champion.

Ryder will be providing four single axle tractors, four tandem axle day cab
tractors, and four tandem axle sleeper cab tractors to be used in this
year's competition. The vehicles are from Ryder's 25,000 plus U.S. fleet
of clean, quality, commercial rental vehicles, and part of the company's
overall fleet of over 156,000 vehicles.
The National Truck Driving Championships event is taking place August 18
through 22 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ryder is a proud member of the
American Trucking Associations.
