Climb will run from January 23 through February 4 of 2010
SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Overstock.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: OSTK) announced today that it will send employee Zack Ralphs to accompany Overstock.com spokeswoman Briana Walker on a 13-day hike up Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the C.H.E.K Institute's "Fit 4 Kili Climb Project."
Walker, also an ambassador for the non-profit group, Life Rolls On, will be the first documented female paraplegic to make her way to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Walker is a published author, featured speaker, hip-hop dancer, and the face of Colours Wheelchairs.
"I'm extremely excited to work with Overstock.com, Zack and the C.H.E.K Institute," said Walker. "I never expected to do this climb, but it just goes to show that anything is possible."
Ralphs and Walker will be part of a nine-person climb team that is partly sponsored by Overstock.com. Ralphs was nominated by his fellow Overstock employees and underwent a final selection process that involved a C.H.E.K Institute review. "I am thrilled to be representing Overstock.com and working alongside Briana," said Ralphs. "I know this will require a lot of hard work, but I am up for it."

Ralphs, with Overstock.com since November 2007, is currently a team Lead in the #2 nationally ranked Overstock Customer Care group, and the manager of the department's O-So-Healthy program. Ralphs, a 29 year-old, recently lost 13 pounds after quitting smoking earlier this year. This month, Ralphs teams up with a local C.H.E.K Institute representative to undergo an intense, four-month training in advance of the Kili climb.
