Aug. 24--The Strawn High School Greyhounds are no stranger to making the news. Winning two state titles -- and a pair of national crowns, to boot -- will generally garner you plenty of media attention.

Having already been featured in a Nike documentary earlier this year, the Greyhounds added another feather to their cap earlier this week when three members of the Strawn squad were featured on the cover of Six-Man Illustrated, a preseason magazine dedicated to six-man football programs in the United States and Canada.

Not only did Strawn make the cover, they made the top of the magazine's preseason national rankings. The Greyhounds edged out rival Richland Springs for the top spot. The Greyhounds are the preseason No. 1 in Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

Richland Springs' spreadback Haustin Burkhart also appears on the cover of the 40-page publication with Trey Doyle and SHS spreadback Parker Purvis

In addition to making the cover, several Strawn athletes are also featured in the book, including Doyle and all-state candidates James Miller, Cliff Thornton and Victor Reyes. Each of the four are ranked among the magazine's top players to watch this fall.

The magazine will be on sale to the public next weekend at the Hico Super Six event.

Strawn will open the season in Hico. The Greyhounds will face Valley beginning at 3 p.m.

Gordon will face Ira beginning at noon.
