Western Alliance Bancorporation (NYSE:WAL) announced today that Torrey Pines Bank and Alliance Bank of Arizona have reached $1 billion inassets, ranking the banks first and second amongthe110 community banksfounded in2003.
Torrey Pines Bank operates seven offices in San Diego Countyandbegan with $20 million in capital in May 2003. Today the bank has total capital of $112 million. Alliance Bank, headquartered in Phoenix,opened in February 2003 with initial capital of $20 million and now operates 11 branches statewide. Capital at Alliance Bank has increased to $106 million. Both banks focus on the business market with a modelthat provides comprehensive 'large bank'servicesthrough a single localrelationship manager with decision-making authority.
