Aug. 25, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Clean-tech startup ION Engineering has named Claude C. “Corky” Corkadel III Executive Vice President of Operations. This move comes as ION enters advanced discussions with several global partners to pilot and commercialize their new technology for carbon capture and cleaning of acid and sour gas streams.

Corkadel’s experience includes oil and gas, chemicals, alternative fuels, clean coal and coal-to-liquid technologies. After retiring from a worldwide career with Mobil Oil Corporation, where he served as a country manager in Asia, and as Global Director of their Specialty Products business, Corkadel has consulted with and held executive roles in several alternative energy and clean-tech start-up companies including Rentech, Inc (AMEX: RTK). He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an M.B.A. from Drexel University.
