Scientific Games Chosen as Preferred Bidder for Hoosier Lottery Systems Contract

Annual Base Revenue Estimated at $12 Million

NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Scientific Games (Nasdaq: SGMS) has announced that it has been chosen by the Hoosier Lottery as the preferred bidder to negotiate an integrated Lottery Gaming System contract, which includes a full suite of online and instant ticket pass through systems, as well as a new range of lottery equipment, including the "next-generation" WAVE(TM) terminal. The contract begins August 2010, will have an initial term of six years, and will provide for four, one-year extension options. The contract was awarded after a competitive bid process with two other vendors, and base revenue to Scientific Games is expected to total approximately $12 million per year.

In FY2008, the Hoosier Lottery generated $822.7 million in retail sales, of which $283.5 million were from lottery online systems. Since inception in 1989, the Hoosier Lottery has returned $3.4 billion to help fund state programs including the Build Indiana Fund, the Teachers' Retirement Fund and the Police & Fire fighters' Pension Relief. Since 1989, the Build Indiana Fund has been used a significant portion of the $3.4 billion dollars to significantly reduce the amount Hoosiers pay for their motor vehicle excise tax.
