The 12th Annual National Press Club 5k Run/ Walk & Auction raises funds for the National Press Club Scholarship for Diversity in Journalism. The National Press Club has worked diligently to promote diversity in America's newsrooms. Over the past decade, the Club has awarded more than $600,000 to bright young people in need of financial assistance to attend journalism and communications schools and realize their full potential. Past winners have attended such prestigious institutions as Georgetown University, Harvard University, American University and Columbia University and have gone on to work in some of the nation's top newsrooms.
