Consumers Energy Seeks Approval for Power Supply Contracts

(Source: Datamonitor)trackingConsumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy, has asked the Michigan Public Service Commission to approve power supply contracts with six new Michigan-based renewable energy projects to be owned and operated by third parties.

According to the company, the six projects represent a total of 9.4MW of capacity and 65,000MWh of renewable energy annually for up to 20 years.

The six new projects are: a landfill gas generation project, owned and operated by North American Natural Resources; a hydroelectric generation project, leased and operated by Elk Rapids Hydroelectric Power; an anaerobic digestion generation project, owned and operated by Fremont Community Digestor; an anaerobic digestion generation project, owned and operated by Scenic View Dairy; a landfill gas generation project, owned and operated by Zeeland Farm Services; and a landfill gas generation project, owned and operated by WM Renewable Energy.
