First tentative agreement reached in 2009 negotiations
HALIFAX, Aug. 28 /CNW/ - Jazz Air LP announced today that it has reached
a tentative labour contract with the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 2002.
The agreement is subject to a ratification vote by union members and
covers approximately 1000 CAW-represented Customer Service Agents employed by
Jazz Air LP. Further details of the agreement will not be released pending
ratification.
"I sincerely thank both the CAW and management bargaining teams for their
professionalism throughout the negotiation process. The completion of this
tentative agreement is a very important first step in the 2009 renewal of all
Jazz's labour contracts", said Joseph Randell, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Jazz.
Jazz is the second largest airline in Canada based on fleet size,
operating over 850 flights daily to 84 destinations in Canada and the United
States.
