Aug. 31, 2009 (United Press International) -- Police in Michigan said they arrested a man who allegedly stuck a woman with the restaurant bill and stole her car on their first, and presumably last, date.
Ferndale police Detective Sgt. Patrick Jones said Terrance Dejuan McCoy, 23, of Detroit, asked for his 27-year-old date's keys so he could retrieve his wallet from her car after they finished a meal at Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ:BWLD) in Ferndale, the Oakland (County) Daily Tribune, Mich., reported Monday.
"She gave him her keys and he went out the door," Jones said of the April 24 incident. "From where she was sitting she saw him get in her car and he drove off at a high rate of speed."
The car was found in Detroit May 5 with the radio missing. McCoy was arrested and Ferndale officers brought him back to the city July 25.
He was charged with a felony count of unlawfully driving the woman's car away, which could earn him a 5-year jail sentence.
McCoy was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
