Romarco confirms mineralized zone between Ledbetter and Snake deposits
Monday, August 31, 2009 9:00 AM

SPARKS, NV, Aug. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSXV: R) (the "Company") is pleased to announce recent assay results from the 2009 exploration program at the Haile Gold Mine, in South Carolina.

The drill results summarized in this announcement are from the area around the proposed Ledbetter pit., one of three main current pits. Additional drill results and interpretation pertaining to the Snake and South pits will be forthcoming. The results announced to date, including those announced today, have demonstrated the following:

1. Ledbetter continues to expand in all directions, remaining open in all
   directions and at depth.
2. A well mineralized zone (see RC 1546 below) east of Ledbetter and
trending south toward Snake is currently being drilled. This zone is
trending toward mineralization identified on the west side of Snake.
The drilling will continue towards Snake with the expectation that
   those two deposits will connect.
3. High grade Au (+5 g/t) continues to be encountered in the areas
surrounding the proposed Ledbetter pit. Recent drilling has
demonstrated that similar high grade areas are not just confined to
Ledbetter as they have also been identified in an area south of
Ledbetter and also east of Snake (see press release dated July 13,
   2009, 34 meters @ 5.3 g/t gold)
4. Drilling between the Snake, Ledbetter, and South pits has identified
new mineralization which may coalesce proposed pits and reduce the
over all strip ratio. The current drilling program is continuing to
   establish this concept.

The drilling within the Ledbetter area includes RC-1516, RC-1525, RC-1527, RC-1530, RC-1533, RC-1534, RC-1535, RC-1537, RC-1538, RC-1542, RC-1545, RC-1553, RC-1563, RC-1594, and RC-1606, some having been recently released. RC-1590 was a twin hole of DDH-296 which was used to monitor the sample quality of the reverse circulation drilling. The ore thickness and the grade of RC-1590 reflected the results of DDH-296 and therefore the team is confident in the results returned from the RC program. Additional twinning of core holes is being conducted to continue monitoring quality and consistency of results from both core and RC drilling . Step-out drilling continues in the Ledbetter area and several holes have assays pending. The drilling results around Ledbetter indicate that the mineralization remains open in all directions and at depth. Highlights of the released holes are provided in the table below.

The on-going 2009 drill program consists of 85,000 meters (279,000 feet) of drilling with four rigs focused on step-out drilling in order to expand known resources and identify new ones. The current drilling is being performed by Boart Longyear and by Romarco's company owned drill. The drill samples are being assayed by Alaska Assay Labs in Fairbanks, AK and Inspectorate Labs in Sparks, NV. Blank samples as well as third party standards were submitted with all of the drill holes. The results of the control samples were within acceptable ranges. Romarco's Qualified Person is Tom Kilbey, Sr. Geologist with the Company.
