NEW YORK - The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange:

NYSE:

Citigroup Inc., up 21 cents at $4.77

Shareholders approved a plan to increase the bank's outstanding stock, allowing it to complete a debt swap that will improve cash flow.

Nokia Corp., up 61 cents at $13.91

The world's biggest maker of cell phones unveiled new models that boast more music features and mesh better with Facebook.

Hovnanian Enterprises Inc., down 60 cents at $4.05

The homebuilders chief executive said he sees signs that the worst of the housing market slide is over and a recovery may be underway.

Moody's Corp., down $1.84 at $24.26

A judge ruled the ratings agency must defend itself against a fraud claim, along with McGraw Hill Cos. and Morgan Stanley.

Family Dollar Stores Inc., down $2.67 at $28.32

Sales at its stores open at least a year rose 1 percent in the fourth quarter, and the company maintained its earnings guidance.

NASDAQ:

Amedisys Inc., down $9.42 at $34.04

The home health and hospice provider's chief operating officer and chief information officer are resigning effective immediately.

Costco Wholesale Corp., up $4.34 at $54.99

The warehouse club operator said its same-store sales slipped 2 percent in August, but beat Wall Street's expectations.

Zumiez Inc., up $2.14 at $14.37

An analyst upgraded the retailer and said its sales strategy paid off this summer, while a similar strategy should help holiday sales.
