US-based independent oil and natural gas company Petrohawk Energy has appointed Dick Stoneburner as its new president and COO. Mr Stoneburner has over 30 years of experience in the energy business and is one of the founders of Petrohawk Energy.
Prior to joining Petrohawk, Mr Stoneburner was vice president of exploration of 3TEC Energy from December 1999 until its merger with Plains Exploration & Production Company in June 2003.
Prior to joining 3TEC, Mr Stoneburner worked as a geologist through several successful private ventures, including Texas Oil & Gas and Hugoton Energy, and independently through his own company, Stoneburner Exploration.
